Introduction jGL is a 3D graphics library for the Java Programming Language with an API which is similar to that of OpenGL, and can be run on Java2 platform and the previous version of Java. You can see the supported functions of current jGL. There are some examples selected from the OpenGL Programming Guide. Besides running the examples as Java Applets, they could also be run as Java Applications. If you want to develop a 3D graphics application using jGL, please download the library in a jar-ball, and put it in the same directory of your application. About the information of all versions of jGL, please refer the release notes. If you have any problem, please mail to robin@is.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp. Finally, jGL is pronounced "Jagle." The compilers on each platform are Java2 Platform, Standard Edition v 1.4.1_01 and Java Development Kit 1.1.8 on Sun Solaris 7 / 8 / 9 and Microsoft Windows 98 / NT / Me / 2K / XP with Cygwin. jGL is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation.
