Title: Development and application from a
quality control theoretical model in food industries
ABSTRACT
This study shows how the quality control
function, in medium size company in the food industry, should be organized.
Initially, the existing arrangements, for the
fixing of international and Brazilian quality standards related with food industry, are described.
The thesis then goes on to present a
methodology applied in this study involving the following steps:
- initial analysis of the food industry ‘s organization of quality control function (by questionnaire);
- development of a theoretical model of quality
control function;
- comparison of this theoretical model with the
existing systems;
- identification of problems in existing
systems;
- some recommendations to solve the problems.
A practical application was carried out in one
firm.
Finally, results of the study are discussed, in
terms of their applicability in general. Some recommendations for further
research are made.
