Quantisation

Quantising the graph of an image from ${\fam11\tenbbb R}^2$ to ${\fam11\tenbbb R}^3$ is only a little more difficult than quantising the graph of an image from ${\fam11\tenbbb R}^2$ to ${\fam11\tenbbb R}$, but the space in which the points sit is now five-dimensional. This ought not to worry those heroic enough to be reading this book. We are going to be looking for clusters in this space, and how this may be done will be described later, for we need to be very interested in clustering methods for other reasons.
